LAUREN SCHAEFER-BIO

Lauren Schaefer is an aspiring multimedia journalist/production assistant/photographer, who specializes in camera operation and producing engaging stories for digital as well as broadcast platforms. As of May 2026, a graduate of Rock Valley College, Lauren brings a specialized certificate in media production, combining rigorous journalistic ethics with hands-on technical skills in video and audio production, editing, photography, and visual storytelling.

During her time at Rock Valley, Lauren completed her internship at WTVO/Eyewitness News, where she learned  how to be a multimedia journalist, but loved the camera operator job the best. Lauren placed third for best sports feature in the 2025 Award for Excellence in the Illinois Community College Newspaper competition. She has shot behind-the-scenes and interviewed some of the top bowlers in the world at several Professional Bowlers Association Fox/FS1 live broadcast shows. AS of October 2025, Lauren started doing some concert photography for the national touring band, Hairball.

Proficient in Professional studio cameras-Sony HDC series, Shoulder-mount cameras-Sony PXW-Z450(4K), Mirrorless cameras-Canon R50, R6, Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects. Lauren is dedicated to the evolving media landscape. She is actively seeking opportunities to be able to use her talents.
